STUDENT & INSTRUCTOR PROFILE FAQ'S
Q: I received an e-mail profile notice from the Regional Public Safety Training Center (RPSTC), but I didn't create this. Who do I contact?
A: If you are currently employed with one of the six partnering public safety agencies of the RPSTC (Reno Police/Fire, Washoe County Sheriff/Sierra Fire, Sparks Police/Fire) or member of an Affiliate agency, it is likely that your training unit or supervisor created a profile for you. If you are a TMCC student attending a class at the Training Center, it is likely that the coordinator for the program or TMCC staff assigned to the Center created the profile for you once you registered through TMCC. Click on the "contact" link at the top right hand corner of the page for appropriate contact information. For all other inquiries, contact Center staff.
Q: I created a student profile some time ago, but forgot my login and password. What do I do?
A: If you are currently employed with one of the six partnering public safety agencies of the RPSTC, Click on "Contact" in the upper right-hand portion of your screen. Phone or e-mail your agency's single point of contact or training unit and ask them to send you a new profile notice via e-mail. Once you receive the notice, print it out and keep it in a safe place for future reference. If you are not a member of one of the partnering agencies listed, contact the Training Center staff at 789-5500 or rpstc@washoecounty.us
Q: I received an Instructor profile notice from the RPSTC. Is this the same as my student profile notice?
A: No. If you are registering for a class or wanting to view/print a transcript of your attendance, you must login using your student login and password. You will have a different login name as an instructor (but may use the same password for both). As an instructor, you have different privileges than those granted you as a student. If you do not remember one or both of your profiles, follow the instructions listed in the previous Q and A.
Q: Why is a profile created?
A: The partnering agencies of the RPSTC use a web-based learning management system (LMS) to manage student registrations, schedule and reserve classrooms, ranges, & other training props, and to extract data to ensure the most efficient and effective use of human and physical resources for public safety training.
Q: What information should be on my profile?
A: Public safety employees or employees attending training at the direction of your department (full-time/currently employed) should use agency or department work address, phone, and e-mail contact information. If your profile contains incorrect or inaccurate information, click on the "contact" link at the top right hand corner of the page for appropriate contact information. For all other inquiries, contact Center staff.
